.DISCUSSION...
Rain and storm chances increase across east central Florida over the
next couple of days as moisture returns to the area and a weakening
front begins a slow approach towards Florida. Activity is forecast
to be focused primarily across the interior each afternoon due to
the progression inland of the east coast sea breeze each afternoon,
with pushback towards the coast possible. Any storms that develop
may be capable of producing frequent lightning strikes, wind gusts
up to 50 mph, and heavy downpours. This pattern of active weather is
forecast to persist into Labor Day weekend.
Aside from convection, there are no major fire weather concerns.
Minimum RH values are forecast to remain above critical thresholds,
and winds remain below 15 mph. Light and variable winds across the
area each morning become more easterly each afternoon as the east
coast sea breeze develops and moves inland. Light transport winds on
Thursday will lead to poor to fair afternoon smoke dispersion
values, improving to fair to good on Friday as transport winds
increase. Temperatures remain in the upper 80s to low 90s each day,
with peak heat indices reaching up to 103F in some spots.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
