...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
.DISCUSSION...
Scattered to numerous generally offshore moving showers (60-70%
chance) and lightning storms are forecast to increase in coverage
this afternoon and evening as collisions occur between sea breezes
and outflow from previous showers/lightning storms. Rain chances
gradually reduce after 7pm. A similar forecast is expected on
Tuesday with slightly lower precipitation chances at 40-60%. Drier
air is expected on Wednesday. The potential exists for isolated
strong storms each afternoon and evening. WSW winds at 5-10mph are
expected this afternoon with winds backing onshore into this
evening.
Hot temperatures and high humidity has resulted in heat
index values up to 105-112F degrees today mainly over northern east
central Florida where a Heat Advisory is in effect until 8PM. Heat
index values will remain high tomorrow and Wednesday as well with
maximum heat index values up to 105-112F degrees. A Moderate to
Major HeatRisk is expected with portions of Lake county in an
Extreme Heat Risk. This level of heat affects anyone without
adequate cooling and hydration. Dispersion values will be Fair to
Very Good Tuesday and Very Good Wednesday. No critical RH concerns
are expected.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
