Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 PM EDT Tue Aug 18 2026

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

Light westerly flow between a stalled front over the Southeast and
high pressure in the Atlantic will continue through the week.
Development of the east coast sea breeze will be slowed by the
offshore flow, with the onshore wind shift behind the boundary
mainly limited to the coastal corridor. Increasing moisture brings
rain and storm chances near to slightly above normal, highest in the
afternoon and evening along the sea breeze collision over the
eastern side of the peninsula. No min RH concerns. Afternoon
dispersion values will be Fair to Good Wednesday, and more Poor to
Fair Thursday. While high temperatures begin to back off from the M-
U90s to the L-M90s, increasing humidity will keep peak afternoon
heat indices at or above 106, and additional Heat Advisories may be
needed.

Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
