.DISCUSSION...
Atlantic ridge axis north of the area will shift southward across
the area early this week. Light southeast winds early Monday will
become east-southeast and increase to 10-15 mph in the afternoon
behind the inland moving east coast sea breeze. A light south to
southwest flow will begin Tuesday, again turning onshore behind the
sea breeze in the afternoon but primarily along the coast. Drier
air will gradually build into the area leading to decreasing
coverage of showers and storms, with rain chances 20-30% (up to 40%
near Lake Okeechobee) on Monday and only 20-25% on Tuesday. However,
isolated strong storms will still be possible each day, producing
strong wind gusts to 40-50 mph, frequent lightning and locally heavy
rainfall. Shower and storm chances are forecast to remain below
normal for the remainder of the work week.
Dispersion values will range from Fair to generally Good both Monday
and Tuesday. Hot and humid conditions are forecast to continue over
the next several days, with highs in the low to mid 90s and peak
heat index values 102-107F. Heat Advisories may be needed for
portions of the area this week for heat index values reaching 108-
110F.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
