Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 PM EDT Sat Sep 19 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Northeast to east winds around 10 mph will prevail into early next
week as a broad surface high pressure remains in place. A
disturbance aloft will move west across the area today and stall
over the eastern Gulf Sunday. This will support increasing moisture
locally, leading to scattered showers and storms. Storm hazards will
include frequent lightning strikes, strong wind gusts, and heavy
downpours. The disturbance aloft will then lift northward before
becoming absorbed by a northern stream trough early next week. Deep
moisture will remain in place into early next week, resulting in
high rain and storm chances across east central Florida. No minimum
RH concerns anticipated into early next week. Fair to Good smoke
dispersion values are forecast today, becoming Fair areawide Sunday
into Monday as transport winds decrease slightly.

Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
