.DISCUSSION...

Good morning. High pressure will dominate the area through the
week. Below normal rain and lightning storm chances are forecast
(20-30 percent chance of rain) through that time. Any storms that
do form will be capable of producing frequent lightning strikes,
gusty winds of 40-50 mph, and locally heavy rainfall. Hot and
humid conditions are forecast with afternoon highs in the low to
mid 90s with lows well into the 70s each day. These temperatures
combined with high humidity will produce peak heat indices of
103-109 degrees. Winds will be light overall as the pressure
gradient is relatively weak. Southwest to west winds will prevail
each day before backing east to southeast each afternoon with the
east coast sea breeze. No Min RH concerns through the week.
Afternoon smoke dispersion values will be fair to generally good
today and Tuesday, and good to very good on Wednesday.
