251 FXUS64 KMOB 261110 AFDMOB Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Mobile AL 610 AM CDT Sat Sep 26 2026 ...New UPDATE, AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 607 AM CDT Sat Sep 26 2026 - A cooler and drier air mass remains present into the beginning of next week bringing below normal low temperatures and lower humidity. && .UPDATE... Issued at 607 AM CDT Sat Sep 26 2026 Current forecast on track with no updates needed at this time. /16 && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1136 PM CDT Fri Sep 25 2026 We had our first real taste of fall Friday with largely below normal temperatures and very comfortable dewpoints in the low 60s. High temperatures will slowly increase to at/above normal by Sunday with largely upper 80s and low 90s expected through the remainder of the forecast period. Thanks to such a dry air mass, the afternoon dewpoints are decent in the low 60s Saturday and further drop for interior areas into the 50s through Tuesday. This keeps humidity quite low and it will feel much more comfortable than typical when temperatures are near 90. Even though high temperatures will be above normal, low temperatures will generally be slightly below normal with upper 60s along the coast and low 60s inland, potentially even some upper 50s for our far northern counties. The area continues to have dry conditions with near zero pops through at least the beginning of next week. PWATs are well below normal around 1.1 inches. PWATs stay below normal leading into next Wednesday before more appreciable moisture return puts the area at/above normal to end the week in conjunction with decreasing subsidence as a trough moves in from the west. This change increases precipitation chances with scattered to locally numerous storms to end the week. ...BEACH FORECAST... For the beaches in southern Alabama and the northwest Florida Panhandle, the rip current risk drops to LOW for Saturday into mid next week and surf heights remain around 1 foot. SS/97 && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 607 AM CDT Sat Sep 26 2026 VFR conditions expected through the forecast. Light northeasterly winds will become easterly, then southeasterly 5 to 10 knots by this afternoon. /16 && .MARINE... Issued at 336 AM CDT Sat Sep 26 2026 Light to at time moderate northeasterly flow will transition to a light onshore today, then become more variable into the coming week. A more persistent onshore flow returns by mid week as a surface ridge builds west over the Southeast. /16 && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
