High pressure will generally dominate the weather pattern through
the work week. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will remain
possible, generally along and near the coast as the seabreeze moves
northward. Given the relatively stagnant upper flow, these storms
will remain sub severe, with brief heavy rainfall and gusty winds.
Outside of thunderstorms, the heat remains the primary concern, as
highs climb into the mid 90s. These will combine with high
humidities to produce heat indices between 100 and 106 degrees this
afternoon. As we head into the evening hours, any lingering
showers/storms will dissipate with the loss of daytime heating.
Expect overnight lows to only cool into the lower to mid 70s.

This trend will generally continue through at least midweek, with
isolated to scattered thunderstorms along and near the coast.
Stronger ridging will build into the region towards the latter half
of the week, increasing the threat of dangerous heat while reducing
rain chances. High temps will near 100 degrees for portions of the
area by the weekend, with heat indices approaching 110 degrees. Heat
headlines will likely be needed by Thursday if forecast confidence
remains high. At this point, overnight lows will cool into the lower
70s and heat indices are expected to remain below 113 degrees, so
extreme heat appears unlikely. We`ll reassess as it gets closer.

Scattered thunderstorms will continue along coastal Alabama and
Florida through the remaining of the afternoon. Confidence on
exact timing and location is low and a TEMPO has been included for
all sites. This activity will dissipate during the mid to late
afternoon hours, leaving VFR conditions for the remainder of the
forecast period. /73
