.An area of thunderstorms produced locally heavy rainfall in excess
of 4 inches Monday morning, leading to areas of standing water and
several road closures. A few streets on the west side of Alden
remain closed, the intersection of 620th street ad country road 46,
as well as Highway 109 near 620th Ave northwest of Alden.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Minnesota, including the
  following counties, Faribault and Freeborn.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1108 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in
    the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already
    occurring. Between 3.5 and 5.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Alden, Conger and Baroda.  - A few streets on the west side
    of Alden are closed due to flooding. Other flooded locations
    are the intersection of 620th st and County Road 46, as well
    as Highway 109 near 620th Ave.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
