934 WWUS43 KMPX 061026 WSWMPX URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen MN 426 AM CST Fri Mar 6 2026 ...WINTRY MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN, SLEET AND SNOW LIKELY STARTING IN WESTERN MINNESOTA LATE THIS AFTERNOON THEN SLOWLY SPREADING EAST THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... .After a swath of rain spreads across the area this morning, a second round of rain this afternoon will transition over to a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow in far western Minnesota this evening. The wintry mix of precipitation will continue to spread east through this evening into early morning Saturday, eventually changing over to wet snow overnight tonight through late Saturday morning before ending. Ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch, mainly in western Minnesota, will make roads & surface very slippery this evening, and slick conditions will continue into Saturday morning following the transition from freezing rain to snow. Snow accumulations of up to around 1" are also expected in addition to the ice.
