FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
601 AM EDT Mon Sep 1 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Mostly sunny skies are expected today as remnant high pressure
ridging remains overtop the area. However, some showers and storms
could develop this afternoon, mainly over the interior west and
central ahead of the weak lake breezes from Lake Superior and Lake
Michigan. Given the sunny skies and (mostly) dry conditions over the
past several days, expect high temperatures to get into the
lower/mid 70s to around 80 and min RHs to drop down to 40% or even
the upper 30 percents in the interior areas this afternoon away from
the showers and storms.

More widespread rain and thunderstorm chances return late Tuesday
and continue across the area into Wednesday. In addition, breezy
conditions are expected Wednesday across the area, especially the
Keweenaw where northwest/north-northwesterly gusts up to 25 to 30
mph could be seen. Below normal temperatures and lake
enhanced/effect rain showers remain over the area through the end of
the week.
