.DISCUSSION...
For much of the next week, high pressure will be situated north of
the Great Lakes. This will lead to a pattern of persistent easterly
to northeasterly winds. For today, a weak cold front associated with
a low pressure in Hudson Bay will invigorate northeasterly winds to
10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph (and even higher along the Lake
Superior shores). The cold surge aloft will help drive some very
light lake enhanced rain along the terrain of the west half this
morning. Minimum RHs are expected to remain above 50% across the UP.
As high pressure builds, the airmass dries out and no precip is
forecast for the next few days. Winds will relax Monday to 5-10 mph
with gusts of 10-15 mph (locally higher along the Lake Michigan
shores). Minimum RHs in the afternoon to the upper 30s percent range
away from the Great Lakes.
