FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN...CORRECTED
National Weather Service Marquette MI
619 AM EDT Tue Jun 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...The last of the rain showers and thunderstorms exits
the eastern U.P. this morning as skies clear out a little by this
afternoon. Although it seems like we got skunked on rainfall last
night, with min RHs still expected to be around 50% or higher across
the area today no fire weather concerns are expected this afternoon.
In addition, gusty west to northwest winds die out by this afternoon
as weak high pressure ridging sets up. Additional rainfall could be
seen Wednesday as another low lifts into the Upper Midwest and brings
rain showers (and potentially a few thunderstorms) back over the
central and east; the west could be completely skunked on rainfall as
the track of the low has shifted a little further southeast. Could
see a wetting (0.20 inches) to soaking (1 inch or more) rainfall over
the south central and east as some outlying ensemble members do show
high precipitation amounts, although some models have only light
amounts (0.10 inch or less) occurring.
