455 FNUS53 KMQT 141003 FWFMQT FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN National Weather Service Marquette MI 602 AM EDT Mon Jul 14 2025 .DISCUSSION... Today, expect mostly dry weather except for a few showers and thunderstorms mainly for Menominee and Delta counties this afternoon. Minimum RHs will fall as low as 35 percent in the interior west, with values in the mid 40s to lower 60s elsewhere, especially near the shores of the Great Lakes where lake breezes will moderate temperatures. Except for the aforementioned lake breezes, winds will primarily be out of the west to northwest at around 5-10 mph with the occasional gust to 15 mph possible. Air quality from Canadian wildfire smoke will continue to be poor today, and is a sign of poor ventilation, though particularly dense wildfire smoke may increase minimum RHs due to blocking out some sunshine. Tonight into Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms spread from northwest to southeast, with a half inch to inch of rainfall expected fro the north/west and generally around a tenth of an inch for the south/east. Minimum RHs will only fall to around the 60 percent mark with winds out of the southwest at around 10 mph becoming lighter out of the northwest late.
