FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
602 AM EDT Thu Jul 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Precipitation will end from west to east throughout the morning
today. High temperatures recovering to near 70 and clearing skies
will help RHs fall to around 40 percent in the interior and 50-60
percent near Lake Superior. Winds out of the north at around 10 mph
with gusts to 25 mph will weaken throughout the day to around 5 mph
with gusts to 10-15 mph by this evening.

Chances of rain spread across the UP from west to east through
Friday, though outside of the counties along the state line, chances
of rain are generally 40 percent or less. A few rumbles of thunder
are possible in the western to south-central UP, but chances of
lightning are only around 20 percent. Expect mainly light winds out
of the south to southwest around 5 mph with some gusts to 10-15 mph
possible late. Minimum RHs are forecast to be in the 50-60 percent
range in the west half and around 50 percent in the east half.
