FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
530 AM EDT Mon Jun 17 2024

.DISCUSSION:

A wet, active weather pattern continues with rounds of showers
and storms today and tonight followed by a brief dry period
Tuesday. Some strong to severe storms are possible. Meanwhile, a
warm, moist airmass works into the area with dewpoints climbing
well into the 60s. Temperatures today peak in the 70s to lower
80s, but under sunny skies Tuesday, expect even warmer
temperatures well into the 80s to lower 90s. Southerly winds are
expected to turn breezy for Tuesday as well. However, dewpoints
climb further to near the 70 degree mark across much of the UP,
which should (in addition to preceding rounds of rain) help limit
fire concerns. Looking ahead, we`ll have more opportunities for
rain from midweek onwards.
