695 FNUS53 KMQT 071002 FWFMQT FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN National Weather Service Marquette MI 601 AM EDT Tue Oct 7 2025 .DISCUSSION... A quick and dry cold front will move through the region today, followed by increasing dry air. As daytime mixing increases, expecting RH values to fall into the 30 and 40 percents. RH as low as 30% looks possible in the south-central. Stronger pressure gradient and cooler air aloft will also result in gusty winds near 20 mph for most of Upper Michigan, with higher values near 35mph in the Keweenaw and 25 to 30 mph in the east half of Upper Michigan. These winds will settle tonight as much of interior Upper Michigan sees the risk of a freeze or frost.
