.DISCUSSION...
A system lifting northwest of Lake Superior today draws breezy
southerly winds and mostly dry conditions through the afternoon and
evening. Southerly winds gradually rise today, becoming 20-30 mph by
the evening. Peak temps rise into the 60s to even near 70 if breaks
in cloud cover occur while Min RHs are only expected to fall into the
60s%. Tonight, a cold front sweeps west to east across the UP
bringing widespread showers and even a few thunderstorms to the area.
The central UP picks up around a tenth of an inch of precip with
isolated areas receiving near a quarter of an inch. The surface cold
front crosses the central UP early Thursday morning, veering winds to
the west. Gusty westerlies 15-25 mph, dry conditions, and cooler
temps are favored through Thursday once precipitation clears.
