.DISCUSSION...

Light winds primarily out of the south/southwest to start off
gradually turn more easterly today as low pressure moves into
northern WI. Winds pick up into the evening, with gusts up to 15kts
possible. This yields wave heights of less than a foot the rest of the daytime
hours, increasing to around a foot after sunset. Meanwhile, light
rain showers are spreading across western Lake Superior, with thunder
becoming possible mid to late afternoon. Spotty showers and storms
continue through the rest of the afternoon and evening, finally
wrapping up between 03-06Z. Any storms could lead to brief drops in
visibility and ceilings, as well as erratic winds. Given an increase
in lower-level moisture, there is a potential for patchy fog and low
stratus to develop over the lake tonight into early Friday, with
ceilings dropping down to MVFR before lifting again later Friday
morning. Winds turn over to the NW Friday behind a cold front, but
remain fairly light at around 5-10kts with wave heights of a foot or
less. Otherwise, any additional rain chances stay contained to
eastern Lake Superior.
