.DISCUSSION...

A very active weather pattern continues for the southern Appalachian
region. Scattered showers and thunderstorms persist across the area
this afternoon. A a couple periods of widespread rain will develop
through the remainder of today, and last through Thursday. Finally,
the remains of Helene will move across the region Thursday night
into Friday, bringing strong, gusty winds and another round of
widespread heavy rain.
