This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A cold front will move through the region this morning. Behind it,
very cold air will begin to filter into the region from the
northwest. Expect to see accumulating snowfall this evening and
overnight for elevations above roughly 2,000 feet.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Northwest flow snow showers are expected to continue through the
day Monday and into the morning hours on Tuesday. Storm total
snowfall amounts of up to 11 inches are expected at or above 5,000
feet in elevation in the Smokies, with 4-8 inches elsewhere in the
Smokies. Totals of 1-4 inches can be expected in the remainder of
the east Tennessee mountains and higher terrain of southwest
Virginia, with locally higher amounts near Sams Gap along the I-26
corridor in east Tennessee and perhaps the higher terrain of Wise
county Virginia as well.

In addition to the snowfall, breezy winds will accompany the cold
temperatures late tonight through Monday night, leading to wind
chill values around or slightly below zero in the mountains.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Detailed snowfall reports from across the forecast area through
Tuesday morning would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
