...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN COCKE AND SOUTH
CENTRAL GREENE COUNTIES THROUGH 815 PM EDT...

At 726 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles north of Smoky Mountains-Big Creek, or 9 miles southeast of
Newport, moving northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Smoky Mountains-Big Creek, Caney Branch, Del Rio, Cedar Creek, Round
Mountain, Hartford, Max Patch, and Waterville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
