Idaho (Zones 102 and 103): Upper level flow turns southwesterly today
behind a departing ridge of high pressure. Expect another couple days of
clear skies, dry conditions, and strengthening inversions with thermal
belts on the midslopes. Winds will increase out of the south or
southwest today. While most areas stay under about 15 mph, the Salmon
River Ranger District will see higher gusts, to about 20-30 mph in the
afternoon. The next chance for precipitation will be a prolonged wet
period staring on Friday afternoon.


Northwest MT (Zones 104 and 105): Upper level flow turns southwesterly
today behind a departing ridge of high pressure. Expect another couple
days of clear skies, dry conditions, and strengthening inversions with
thermal belts on the midslopes. Winds will increase out of the south
today and turn easterly tonight through Friday. The next chance for
precipitation will be a prolonged wet period staring on Friday
afternoon.

West Central MT (Zones 106, 107 and 108): Upper level flow turns
southwesterly today behind a departing ridge of high pressure. Expect
another couple days of clear skies, dry conditions, and strengthening
