.DISCUSSION...
Idaho (Zones 102 and 103): Southerly breezes, gusting during the
afternoon up to 25 mph on the Camas Prairie, lead to periods of light
precipitation overnight. This system will provide widespread chances for
a 0.25 inch, with 0.50 to 1.25" in higher mountains. Snow levels drop
below 5000 feet Monday morning and 3 to 8 inches in the highest terrain
is possible. A warming trend begins Tuesday with the next significant
system potentially 24-27 October.
Northwest MT (Zones 104 and 105): Southerly breezes today with
precipitation beginning late afternoon, especially west of US-93. By
Monday morning precipitation totals of 1 to 2 inches in the mountains is
possible. Snow levels lower to around 4000 feet Monday morning and 5 to
10 inches above 6000 feet is possible. A warming trend begins Tuesday
with the next significant system potentially 24-27 October.
West Central MT (Zones 106, 107 and 108): Southerly breezes are expected this
evening with precipitation beginning on Sunday. By Monday morning, a
widespread wetting rain is likely with amounts of 0.50 to 1.25 inches in
the mountains. The highest terrain of the Bitterroot Mountains will see
snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 inches, with snow levels dropping to 4500
feet on Monday morning. A warming trend begins Tuesday with the next
significant system potentially 24-27 October.
Southwest MT (Zones 109, 110 and 111): Southerly breezes this evening
with precipitation beginning on Sunday. By Monday morning, a widespread
wetting rain is likely with amounts of 0.25 to 0.50 inches in the
mountains. A warming trend begins Tuesday with the next significant
system potentially 24-27 October.
