Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Wrn Montana and N Cntrl Idaho
National Weather Service Missoula MT
255 PM MDT Mon Jun 16 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Idaho (Zones 102 and 103): Showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop
early this afternoon, mainly across south and eastern portions of the
Nez Perce-Clearwater NF. North-northwest winds will develop today, with
gusts of 10-15 mph. A dry westerly flow pattern will set up Tuesday-
Wednesday providing plenty of sunshine. Confidence is trending higher
(80 percent probability) for a pattern change, that could bring
widespread wetting rains this coming weekend.

Northwest MT (Zones 104 and 105): Warm and dry conditions are expected
today, along with few passing high clouds. Dry weather will continue
into Tuesday and Wednesday, with increasing westerly winds, especially
by Wednesday. Confidence is trending higher (80 percent probability)
for a pattern change, that could bring widespread wetting rains this
coming weekend.

West Central MT (Zones 106, 107 and 108): Showers and thunderstorms will
continue to develop in the Lolo NF, with activity pushing along the
divide by the evening. Any storms will be short lived with little
precipitation. An overall drying trend is expected Tuesday into
Wednesday, along with increasing westerly winds. Confidence is trending
higher (80 percent probability) for a pattern change, that could bring
widespread wetting rains this coming weekend.

Southwest MT (Zones 109, 110 and 111): Showers and thunderstorms will
continue to develop across the Bitterroot NF, with coverage expanding
eastward along and east of the divide through this evening.
Thunderstorms across the Beaverhead-Deerlodge NF will be capable of
producing brief heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail. An overall drying
trend is expected Tuesday into Wednesday, along with increasing westerly
winds. Confidence is trending higher (80 percent probability) for a
pattern change, to cooler temperatures and higher MinRH values, though
widespread wetting rains may be further north, toward the I-90 corridor.
