.DISCUSSION...
Idaho (Zones 102 and 103): Light and variable winds will become easterly
later this afternoon or evening. Expect east winds to last through
Saturday, along with hot and dry conditions and chances for
thunderstorms on Saturday. A wetter, cooler pattern will become
established early next week featuring more widespread rain and afternoon
thunderstorms.
Northwest MT (Zones 104 and 105): Strong east winds will continue this
evening behind a cold front moving east to west. Wind speeds will be
greatest on the Flathead NF, where a Wind Advisory is in place through
midnight. The east winds will decrease in strength and last
through Saturday before the west winds return on Sunday. A wetter,
cooler pattern becomes established early next week featuring more
widespread rain and afternoon thunderstorms.
West Central MT (Zones 106, 107 and 108): Strong east winds will continue
this evening behind a cold front moving east to west. Wind speeds will
be greatest across the East Lolo NF and CSKT tribal lands. The easterly
direction will last through Saturday before the west winds return on
Sunday. Dry conditions, with humidity into the lower teens, will be
present on Friday and Saturday. A wetter, cooler pattern becomes
established early next week featuring more widespread rain and afternoon
thunderstorms.
Southwest MT (Zones 109, 110 and 111): Strong northerly or northeasterly
winds will continue this evening. Winds relax on Friday as high pressure
builds through Saturday, with chances for thunderstorms on Saturday and
Sunday afternoons. A wetter, cooler pattern becomes established early
next week featuring more widespread rain and continuing afternoon
thunderstorms.
