.DISCUSSION...The main change to the forecast was to lower temperatures
and raise humidity due to the combined residual and Canadian smoke.
The easterly winds will help to thin the smoke by later tonight. Also
by late afternoon there could be a fair amount of mid-level cloud
cover which could also reduce temperature rise. The easterly winds
are forecast to push much of smoke to the west, but lingering haze
is possible Thursday night. The easterly winds will be the strongest in
the upper elevations between 9 pm and 3 am Friday. It will be slightly
milder and drier on Friday. The east winds will diminish a bit but not
totally go away Friday. The wind/pressure gradient stays easterly
through Saturday. That means there could be an uptick in the
east winds in the upper elevations Friday night, generally between 15
to 20 mph with an RH recovery of 37% in the thermal belt by Saturday
morning. The easterlies will lessen by Saturday afternoon to around
5 to 10 mph. We are still expecting an increased trend in cloud cover,
humidity and shower/storm activity from Sunday into next week. There is
a 70 percent chance for a wetting rain (>0.09") for the 48 hour period
ending next Thursday morning.
