...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER THREAT DUE TO LOW RH AND MODERATE
WESTERLY WINDS ACROSS THE EAST BAY HILLS SATURDAY AFTERNOON...
.DISCUSSION...The marine layer is around 1800 feet deep and will
gradually compress to around 1,000 feet by Saturday as modest
ridging builds from the south. This will also bring warmer
temperatures and lower RH. The interior mountains will likely drop
below 15% RH on Saturday, as temperatures climb into the 90s.
Fortunately winds will remain moderate an onshore, but the
standard afternoon breeze will bring a brief period of elevated
fire weather concerns, particularly across gaps and passes in the
interior East Bay. Similar conditions are expected Sunday with
only marginal improvement through the week.
Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
