...Near critical fire weather conditions affect the interior
Central Coast and interior North Bay for the second half of the
week and into the weekend with moderate to poor RH recoveries and
breezy to gusty afternoon and evening winds with low daytime RH...
.DISCUSSION...This afternoon offers the warmest temperatures of
the forecast with sunny skies and poor humidity retentions
continuing to dry fire fuels especially for areas away from the
coast. Despite better onshore flow and a cooling trend,
humidities will be slow to improve in the next few days. This,
coupled with increasing winds from the changing upper-level
pattern will increase fire weather concerns. Areas of higher
concern will be the higher terrain in the far interior as winds
look to gust to around 35 mph and humidity retentions look to fall
to 10-20%. Some of these areas will also have very poor overnight
recoveries, less than 25%. Fire concerns begin to ease into
Sunday as winds ease district wide, and humidities slightly
improve.
