Spot Forecast for 2025 Wilder Grasslands Rx Burn...CALIFORNIA STATE PARKS
National Weather Service San Francisco CA
703 PM PDT Sun Oct 5 2025

Forecast is based on ignition time of 1000 PDT on October 06.
If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather
Service.

.DISCUSSION...The main question for the near term will does the marine
layer influence the burn site. Guidance shows an otter eddy surging
stratus into coastal Santa Cruz County tonight, but most models also
show easterly winds developing ushering in drier air. Opted to keep the
forecast sunny and clear for Monday given the current satellite imagery
and model output. Expect fairly quiet days, with light winds from the
east to northeast at night, with weak onshore westerly winds emerging
by late morning or early afternoon. In terms of humidity, Monday should
be the driest with minRH values falling to 45-55 percent. Recovery looks
to very good, perhaps up to 78-88 percent Monday night. MinRH values for
Tuesday look to be slightly better, perhaps only 55-65 percent with near
excellent to excellent recovery expected that night.
