The frontal boundary will slide southward as a cold front today, then remain nearly stationary through Sun, with little change in winds and seas. Little change in the weak high pressure regime is expected into early next week, with mainly gentle to moderate winds and slight to locally moderate seas prevailing. .THIS AFTERNOON...S of 24N, E to SE winds 10 kt. Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida .SYNOPSIS...An upper level trough over the southeastern United States along with a couple of surface troughs is resulting in scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms, mainly north of 25N west of 70W. Looking ahead, a cold front is forecast to reach the waters off NE Florida today, then stall and remain nearly stationary through Sun extending from near Bermuda to northern Florida. Moderate to fresh northeast winds along with moderate seas are expected in the wake of the front by Sun. The Atlantic ridge will dominate the remainder of the forecast region producing a gentle to moderate anticyclonic flow. .THIS AFTERNOON...SE to S winds less than 5 kt, shifting to E in the afternoon.
