.SYNOPSIS...Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will
linger in the SE Gulf this morning and spread over much of the
basin over the next few days. A moderate pressure gradient
between high pressure over the western Atlantic and lower
pressures over Texas and Mexico result in moderate to fresh
easterly winds and moderate seas across the Gulf waters. The
gradient will weaken from west to east Fri into the weekend as a
frontal boundary approaches the western Gulf waters and a trough
forms over the central Gulf. The front may move into the basin by
the end of the weekend with weakening winds and subsiding seas
ahead of it. Increasing winds and building seas are possible
behind the drifting front.
