Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast for the Gulf of America

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

.SYNOPSIS...A surface trough over the SE Gulf combined with
high pressure over the Carolinas is producing an area of fresh
to locally strong easterly winds from 24N to 27N between 83W and
88W. These winds will persist through tonight as the trough
moves westward and dissipates. A cold front is over the NW Gulf
followed by fresh to strong N winds. These winds will continue
through late tonight. The front is forecast to stall over the
northern Gulf Mon night into Tue, when a low pressure will form
off Texas and move NE across the southeast U.S. into the northwest
Atlantic. Thereafter, the front will move southeastward farther
into the basin, but then stall again over the central Gulf through
mid- week, as another low forms over South Texas. Looking ahead,
expect fresh southerly flow over the western Gulf as the low
pressure moves northeastward.
