.DISCUSSION...
A storm system will move into North Slope Borough today from the
Chukchi Sea. Areas of rain will develop over the western Brooks
Range down to Utqiagvik. Scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms will develop elsewhere over the Brooks Range and North
Slope. West to southwest gusty winds of 15 to 25 mph will occur
across the Arctic Plains, with the strongest in the western Brooks
Range. Cooler temperatures and higher humidities will diminish fire
activity.
