Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms. ANZ899-220215- 1119 PM EDT Sun Sep 20 2026 .SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...A stationary front extending off the Carolinas will drift N tonight. A cold front will approach from the NW tonight as low pressure tracks E and NE while passing near or just N of the waters. A trailing cold front will move S and SE and reach the far northern waters by early Mon, moving further S over the northern into the central waters during the day Mon. The front will stall from near the Virginia Capes eastward Mon night through Tue night as low pressure develops S of the frontal boundary and moves slowly N and NE. Complex, strengthening, low pressure will move very slowly N, along or S of the front, Wed through Fri night.
