Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. AMZ101-030715- Synopsis for the SW N Atlantic including the Bahamas 309 PM EDT Tue Sep 2 2025 .SYNOPSIS...A nearly stationary front will persist over the NW waters, extending roughly from 31N74W to the NW Bahamas and south Florida. The pressure gradient between the Atlantic ridge and the front supports an area of fresh to strong southerly winds from 25N to 28N between 72W and 76W. These winds are expected to persist tonight into Wed. A band-like of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms is SE of the front affecting the Bahamas, the Straits of Florida and western Cuba. Winds and seas could be higher near thunderstorms.
