Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. AMZ101-170315- Synopsis for the SW N Atlantic including the Bahamas 1101 AM EDT Wed Sep 16 2026 .SYNOPSIS...A tight pressure gradient between high pressure over the southeastern U.S. and a stationary front that extends from just east of Bermuda to the NW Bahamas will bring fresh to strong northeast winds and build seas to a rough state north of the Bahamas and west of about 70W through Thu. Conditions will improve late Thu into Fri as broad ridging dominates the basin into the weekend.
