.Synopsis...
Prolonged small stream and river flooding in Alaska... Flash and urban
flooding possible this week across the Southwest...

.Alaska...
Small stream and isolated river flooding will persist through at least
mid-week across portions of the Interior and western Brooks Range as runoff
from glacial melt and recent rainfall slowly routes downstream. 1 - 2" of
additional rainfall through day 2 (Wed) will continue to prolong high flows
through the week.

.Southwest...
Flash and urban flooding is possible across the region through at least day
5 (Sat) due to monsoonal moisture generating periods of locally heavy
rainfall. Coverage and intensity of showers and storms will be highest
across southern CA and AZ through day 2 (Wed). Widespread flooding is not
expected however, locally intense rainfall rates may generate rapid rises
on small streams in areas of steep terrain and shallow soils, as well as in
arroyos, slot canyons, and normally dry washes. Debris flows are also
possible near recently burned areas.
