860 FXUS64 KOHX 081647 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 1147 AM CDT Wed Oct 8 2025 ...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 1147 AM CDT Wed Oct 8 2025 - No hazardous weather expected over the next week with dry conditions prevailing. - Cooler temperatures in the 70s for the remainder of the week, returning to the 80s next week. && .SHORT TERM... (Rest of today through Thursday) Issued at 1147 AM CDT Wed Oct 8 2025 Not a whole lot to talk about in the forecast discussion today and this week. We will be moving into an October like weather pattern that will bring an extended period of quiet weather. An upper level ridge is off to our west with a strong area of high pressure over the Great Lakes. This will influence our weather for much of this week with quiet conditions continuing through the forecast period. The back edge of the low clouds is through Clarksville and we will continue to see clearing from north to south through the afternoon as drier air builds in. All areas will clear out by the evening and we will see lows in the mid 40s to lower 50s. High pressure will be set up just to our north on Thursday and that will bring great weather with clear skies and seasonal highs in the low to mid 70s. && .LONG TERM... (Thursday Night through next Wednesday) Issued at 1147 AM CDT Wed Oct 8 2025 There will not be a lot of change as we head into the extended period with quiet weather continuing. High pressure will slide off to the east late in the week into the weekend with an upper level ridge amplifying to our west. That will bring southerly flow and warm our highs back into the mid 70s to lower 80s. As we head into next week the upper level ridge will slide east setting up over us. This will keep highs in the mid 70s to lower 80s. The upper level ridge pattern is favored to hold in place for all of next week. && .AVIATION...
