Updated at 1152 PM CDT Thu Aug 28 2025 - Seasonal temperatures through the weekend with some cooling next week. - A generally dry pattern will last through the weekend. Expect low to medium rain chances from Labor Day into Thursday, then hopefully a dry first weekend of September. && .SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Saturday Night) Issued at 1045 PM CDT Thu Aug 28 2025 A long wave trough is set up over the Northeast US with an upper level ridge over the Four Corners region. A short wave to our southeast is moving trough the trough. The showers with this short wave stayed to our west and south but we did see cloud cover with it. The clouds are starting to clear from north to south and we will see mainly clear skies overnight and for Friday. Highs will be a few degrees warmer pushing back into the mid to upper 80s with maybe a few low 90s. Troughing will remain over us into the weekend but it will be quiet. Rain chances will remain to our south with seasonal highs in the mid to upper 80s. && .LONG TERM... (Sunday through next Friday) Issued at 1045 PM CDT Thu Aug 28 2025 There won`t be a big change in the pattern as we head into Sunday and next week. An upper level ridge will amplify over the West with troughing remaining in place over the eastern US. Highs will start to cool some over the week falling into the upper 70s to lower 80s by Tuesday. After Sunday we will see a few short waves embedded in the trough. This will bring us low to medium chances for showers and a low chance for a few thunderstorms. && .AVIATION...
