Updated at 1147 PM CDT Fri Aug 29 2025 - Seasonal temperatures through the weekend with cooling next week. - A generally dry pattern will last through the weekend. - Low to medium rain chances from Labor Day into Thursday, then dry conditions return. && .SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Sunday Night) Issued at 1045 PM CDT Fri Aug 29 2025 Long wave troughing is set up over the Northeast stretching south along the East Coast. Surface high pressure is sitting over the Great Lakes. This will influence our weather this weekend bringing great conditions to Middle TN. Highs will be seasonal in the mid to upper 80s and dew points will remain comfortable in the 50s. We will see passing high clouds at times on Saturday and a little more cloud cover on Sunday as a short wave digs to our west but still plenty of sun over the weekend. && .LONG TERM... (Monday through next Saturday) Issued at 1045 PM CDT Fri Aug 29 2025 Long wave troughing will start to set up over the eastern half of the US next week. Short waves will be embedded within the long wave and that will bring us low to medium chances for rain Monday afternoon through Thursday. It`s hard to pinpoint the higher shower chances but right now it looks to be Monday afternoon and again Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon. Instability will be limited keeping the thunderstorm threat low but a few storms can`t be ruled out during the afternoons. Rain totals Monday through Thursday will generally range from 0.40-1.40". With the troughing pattern we will see cooler temperatures with highs falling back into the 70s. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1147 PM CDT Fri Aug 29 2025 Mainly VFR conditions prevail through the TAF period with light northeasterly winds.
