...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Runoff from yesterdays heavy rains has caused the Bronx
  River to rise to moderate flood stage of around 3.7 ft early this
  morning

* WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following
  county, Bronx.

* WHEN...Until 200 PM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Water over Bronx River Parkway due to elevated stream
  flow on the Bronx River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 658 AM EDT, The river is expected to crest this morning,
    and then slowly subside below minor flood stage of 3 ft
    through this afternoon. Flooding should subsides on the Bronx
    River Parkway once water levels fall below 3 ft.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    East Tremont, Woodlawn and Fordham.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
