.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 138 PM CDT Thu Oct 9 2025

High pressure and ridging aloft continue to be the theme of the
forecast. A sfc high over the northeast CONUS continues to slowly
move east the next few days. Ridging aloft to our west keeps us in
cooler northwest flow till the weekend. Tonight will be the coldest
night so far with some places seeing lows in the upper 30s thanks to
clear skies and calm to light winds. Dry weather is progged for the
whole 7-day forecast with the exception of a small disturbance in
the form of a sfc trof/weak front Friday night that might have just
enough moisture to eek out a few light showers or sprinkles (mainly
over western portions of the area).

A warm up kicks off this weekend thanks to amplified ridging aloft
shifting more overhead. This weekend will warm to slightly above
normal and then to well above normal (80s) Monday and Tuesday before
temperatures begin to moderate again for late week.
