426 FXUS63 KPAH 030540 AFDPAH Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Paducah KY 1240 AM CDT Sat Oct 3 2026 .KEY MESSAGES... - Seasonably normal temperatures and dry weather is forecast for the weekend through much of next week, with a warming trend late week. && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1240 AM CDT Sat Oct 3 2026 Precipitation has ended across the Quad State at this time. Low clouds remain in southern portions of Western Kentucky. Despite the heavy rainfall Friday, sufficient surface winds during the night should keep visibility decreases minimal. Today, high pressure moves through the Great Lakes area, keeping northeasterly flow across the Quad State and limiting highs to the mid-70s. While clouds move in from the southwest, the front and better precipitation potential will be across TN or further south, resulting in a dry forecast for the entire Quad State. On Sunday, a second cold front reinforces dry cooler air as a broad area of high pressure moves towards the Midwest from the Northern Plains. Dry weather and high pressure is favored for the entire workweek ahead. The coolest mornings will be Tuesday and Wednesday with morning lows in the 40s. A ridge axis moves through Tuesday which will allow for a bit more of a southerly flow afterwards, and a slow warming trend as a subsequent ridge builds over the Quad State late week. Models point towards late next weekend as the next chance for rain. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z SUNDAY/... Issued at 943 PM CDT Fri Oct 2 2026 Very tricky forecast with regards to cloud cover. On satellite we are currently clearing out more than was expected, however there is still the chance for moisture to overrun the front tomorrow morning and given the light winds, clouds may build back in over portions of the area. Right now confidence in clouds building back over CGI and EVV are lower confidence, so have only hinted at the possibility in the TAFs. Where skies have cleared tonight winds should stay up enough to preclude any significant fog development, but this could lead to more of a low stratus situation which further complicates the forecast possibilities. && .PAH WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
