High pressure over New England will continue to favor dry weather
across the region today, though a weak upper shortwave ahead of a
more organized system may lift enough moisture northward for
isolated to scattered showers south of Pittsburgh this afternoon.
Weak moist advection with southerly surface flow should aid rising
daytime humidity minimums, but deep mixing could still result in
pockets of drier air that pushes humidity readings to the lower
30s.
The combination of an approaching upper trough and surface cold
front will introduce chances for showers and isolated
thunderstorms late tonight into Thursday. Excessive cloud cover
is likely to keep area temperature below normal and represent a 5
to 10 degree drop from today`s readings.
Brief dry and seasonably warm weather will develop Friday before
another cold front creates additional rain chances and falling
temperature Saturday.
