Shower and low probability thunderstorm chances increase after
midnight tonight before peaking Tuesday afternoon prior to the
arrival of a strong cold front. Rain and cloud cover will limit
diurnal heating to keep temperature only a few degrees above
average. Precipitation chances will fall Tuesday night after the
frontal passage, with wind veering to the NW and increasing gusts.
High pressure will quickly build in behind the front and bring in
a drier, cooler air mass for Wednesday. Residual pressure
gradients and mixing may result in 20 to 30 mph northerly gusts
during the afternoon hours. Expect near to below average
temperature Thursday into Friday morning before area temperature
rises above normal by the weekend.
