********* PITTSBURGH MONTHLY SUMMARY **********

The Pittsburgh PA climate summary for the month  of May, 2025.  The
maximum temperature for the period was 83.  The record maximum
temperature is 95 degrees which was last set in 1887.  The minimum
temperature for the period was 39.  The record minimum temperature
is 26 degrees which was last set in 1970. The average temperature
was 60.9 degrees which is 0.3 degrees below the normal average
temperature of 61.2 degrees.  The maximum temperature did not exceed
90 degrees.  The minimum temperature did not fall below 32 degrees.
A total of 4.10 inches of precipitation fell during the period which
is 0.27 inches above the normal amount of 3.83.  A trace of snow
fell during the period. The departure from normal is 0.00.  There
were 152 heating degree days this period which is 20 below the
normal amount of 172 days.  There were 32 cooling degree days this
period which is 24 below the normal amount of 56 days.  The maximum
wind was 30 miles per hour from the west and occurred on May 17. The
maximum wind gust was 48 miles per hour from the southwest and
occurred on May 16.

degrees which is 2.4 degrees below the normal average temperature of
62.3 degrees.  The maximum temperature did not exceed 90 degrees.
