********* PITTSBURGH MONTHLY SUMMARY **********

The Pittsburgh PA climate summary for the month  of August, 2025.  The maximum
temperature for the period was 93.  The record maximum temperature is 103
degrees which was set in 1918.  The minimum temperature for the period was 45.
The record minimum temperature is 39 degrees which was set in 1982.  The
average temperature was 71.3 degrees which is 0.5 degrees below the normal
average temperature of 71.8 degrees.  The maximum temperature exceeded 90
degrees on 4 days this period.  The minimum temperature did not fall below 32
degrees.  A total of 1.58 inches of precipitation fell during the period which
is 1.94 inches below the normal amount of 3.52.  No snow fell during the period
which is normal.  There were 24 heating degree days this period which is 17
above the normal amount of 7 days.  There were 229 cooling degree days this
period which is 10 above the normal amount of 219 days.  The maximum wind was
32 miles per hour from the northwest and occurred on August 17.  The maximum
wind gust was 45 miles per hour from the northwest and occurred on August 17.
