Additional aerial footage showed ground scouring in a field east
of Wakatomike Creek and south of Raiders Road near the beginning
of the tornado track. This supports widening of the track width
and better definition for the center of the track. The track was
also extended slightly across the creek.

Survey Summary:
A strong tornado occurred during the overnight hours of June
6th in a strengthening convective cell as it descended in a
cornfield on the west side of Frazeysburg. The tornado then
knocked over a utility pole before removing the second story of
a home on W 3rd Street, causing one of the load-bearing walls to
collapse. Two barns were also totally destroyed at this
residence, and a softwood pine was also uprooted. Continuing
east on W 3rd Street through the middle of town, two homes had
their roofs removed, and a small retail shop had 50% of its roof
removed. Farther east along W 3rd Street there were two
uprooted hardwood trees pointed in a northwest direction, and
two additional softwood trees uprooted farther down the road. On
the eastern edge of town near Frazeysburg Elementary School,
there was an uprooted hardwood tree a few feet in diameter
between two houses on Furnace Street. Next to the school, there
were also two snapped trees, though some rot was observed in the
centers. The school itself sustained damage to the fascia. The
circulation began to weaken and dissipate as it reached the
eastern edge of town, turning northeastward parallel to E 3rd
Street/Raiders Road. The debris field then began to fan out,
indicating an end to ground circulation.

NWS Pittsburgh appreciates the assistance provided by the Muskingum
County EMA during this survey. This is the 22nd tornado in the
NWS Pittsburgh forecast area for the 2024 calendar year.
