High flows, fast currents and debris may create hazardous conditions for recreational boaters in Allegheny County on the Ohio River. During the recreational boating season through September 30 the National Weather Service in coordination with Pittsburgh River Rescue issues this advisory when conditions may be hazardous for recreational boaters. The Allegheny County Sanitary Authority also issues sewer overflow advisory reports indicating the suitability of water quality for various aquatic activities.
